Green Parent Chicago

Green Parent Chicago is the brainchild of Christine Escobar, writer and mom of two. The site is “a welcoming harbor for Chicago-area parents interested in natural family living and caring for the environment” – welcoming words indeed, in a world beset with global warming, pollution, and worries about the where we’re going. Christine’s posts touch upon subjects such as natural birth, non-traditional families, nutrition, environmentalism, and more – and although Chicago-centric, many of the ideas presented here can easily be transplanted to your own neighborhood. There are thought-provoking pieces on marketing to kids, wasting food, introducing kids to environmentally-friendly cleaning, and progressive politics and parenting (a topic of increasing import in today’s all-news, all-the-time world). Rich in links to additional information on the topics listed here (to Simple Living, Natural Parenting, Green Living, and Kids, just to name a few), and in Chicago-area resources and event listings, this blog is a welcome spot of green in an ever-industrialized, increasingly uncertain world.
