The Wednesday Chef is
a blog with a very specific mission -- to flavor-check the food sections of The New York Times and the L.A. Times, two widely read newspapers that are in constant competition for culinary supremacy. The blog's title is born out of the fact that both papers put out their food musings mid-week. By featuring this site on Tuesday, we've given you a one-day head-start on this week's "food section face-off" as blogger / test-chef, Luisa, likes to call it. Browse the site's well-organized categories and you'll find recipe after recipe that has been lovingly executed, photographed, tasted, and evaluated. The Wed. Chef is thorough, but she's not a food snob. She's happy to succumb to tangential inquiries like the quest for the perfect maple pecan muffin or seeing if TV food personalities can really deliver great recipes. So, whether you're wondering how to handle the Times' next mouth-watering recipe or if you just want to spend some time with a funny, inquisitive cook, make sure you mark your calendar for Wednesdays.
